MUKIS – Student Career Education Information System
The solution’s innovation and social value were recognised nationally: MUKIS won the “Government and Citizen Engagement” category in the Digital Book Carrier competition and became Lithuania’s digital ambassador in the global World Summit Awards competition. MUKIS is designed to support students, teachers and career counsellors alike, giving all users access to relevant information and opportunities to collaborate.

The challenge
The task
Students often lack clear tools to understand their strengths, choose suitable activities and plan their future with purpose.
At the same time, educational institutions need to monitor student progress, analyse data and provide targeted support.
The solution therefore had to be not only functional, but also appealing to younger users—easy to understand, engaging and convenient to use.

The result
MUKIS – National Student Career Education Information System
A single digital environment connecting students, career specialists, teachers and parents, with tools for self-discovery, competency development, career planning, task completion and individual progress tracking. The solution combines interactive learning and gamification, a student career portfolio, events, professional development programmes and data exchange with national education registers, making career education structured, personalised and accessible nationwide.
Project results
The project included an analysis of MUKIS information system requirements and business processes, detailed functional and technical design, and the definition of the system architecture, data model, user roles, use cases and UX/UI prototypes. An integrated MUKIS portal was developed and deployed with functional areas for students, career specialists, parents, administrators and other users, together with modules for career planning, learning, tasks, assessment, gamification, events, professional development, payments, certificates and communication. Integrations with the Student Register, Teachers’ Register, ŠMIR, KRISIN, RKC, Paysera, Microsoft Teams and email infrastructure were designed and implemented, automating the retrieval and updating of relevant education-system data. Development, test and production infrastructure was prepared, including application servers, a database, backup mechanisms and deployment processes. Automated testing before new-version deployments was planned, while the production environment was intended for both pilot operation and ongoing production use. The documentation also explicitly provides for further system development, warranty maintenance and support.
