National Sustainability and Responsibility Index
A digital assessment and analytics platform for evaluating the sustainability and responsible-business maturity of organisations. The system combines organisation registration, sustainability questionnaires, expert assessment, results analysis and peer comparison in one environment, helping identify strengths and areas for improvement.
The challenge
The task
The project required an information system to digitise the National Sustainability and Responsibility Index process, from organisation participation and data submission through to expert assessment and final results.
A key challenge was creating a convenient environment for different user groups: organisations assessing their sustainability maturity, experts conducting external assessments and system administrators managing the overall assessment process.
The system needed to support flexible questionnaire management, submission of supporting information and documents, automated assessment workflows and structured data collection for further analysis.
It also had to be reliable and straightforward to administer, allowing the VTAI methodology to be applied to organisations of different sizes while leaving room to expand the assessment functionality.
Main features
Sustainability questionnaire completion
Completion of basic and expert VTAI questionnaires, including submission of answers, supplementary data and supporting documents.
Questionnaire and assessment methodology administration
Configuration of questionnaire forms, questions, indicators, taxonomies, assessment logic and other data structures.
Sustainability scores and rankings
Scoring organisations and determining and presenting their position among organisations assessed against comparable criteria.
Application and assessment management
Submission of applications generated from completed questionnaires, status management, administrative review and expert assessment.
Orders, payments and invoicing
Administration of paid service orders, payment workflows and invoices related to the services.
User authentication and profiles
Organisation representatives sign in through the State Information Resources Interoperability Platform (VIISP), with management of personal workspaces, profile data and access permissions.
Notifications and communication
Management of system and automated notifications, reminders and correspondence with organisation representatives, including document submission and approval.
Statistics, archive and results analysis
Collection, review and analysis of assessment statistics, previous-year applications and historical results.
Administration, audit and integrations
Management of internal users, roles and permissions, activity logs, error and revision monitoring, system settings and integration with VIISP.
The result
National Sustainability and Responsibility Index Registry
We developed a specialised information system for managing the full National Sustainability and Responsibility Index process, from organisation participation to the presentation of final assessment results. The platform provides a structured assessment environment where organisations can submit information about their activities and experts can efficiently conduct external assessments. It automates a significant share of administrative work, ensures consistent application of the assessment methodology and supports efficient processing of large volumes of structured data. The solution addresses the needs of organisation representatives, experts and administrators through dedicated workspaces for each group, clear workflows, convenient information submission and secure data management. Its modular architecture allows the platform to evolve, incorporate new assessment criteria and adapt to changing sustainability assessment requirements.
Project results
The project covered the design, development, testing and deployment of new functionality across development, test and production environments, together with updates to documentation and user and administrator guides, and training. The project also ensured the maintenance and enhancement of the Business Sustainability and Responsibility Index information system (VTAI IS), including administration of the software, databases, virtual servers and integration interfaces; operational monitoring; incident analysis and resolution; backup management; performance optimisation; and security assurance.
