Web platform for Lithuania’s diplomatic network

A centralised web platform developed for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, enabling a single system to manage more than 50 Lithuanian diplomatic missions, consular offices, representations to international organisations and special missions across multiple languages. The solution ensures consistent information delivery, a unified user experience and efficient multilingual content management.

The challenge

The task

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs needed a modern web platform to replace separately administered diplomatic mission websites and enable centralised management. The system had to be flexible enough for each embassy or consular office to maintain its own content while using a shared architecture, design principles and functionality.

The platform had to support multilingual content, news publishing, event calendars, document publication, consular information, contact management, search and integrations with the ministry’s information systems. It was also essential to ensure a high level of security, straightforward administration and the ability to launch new diplomatic mission websites quickly using a unified model.

The result is a centralised web platform that simplified the administration of more than fifty websites, ensured consistent communications and reduced the cost of launching and maintaining new websites.

The result

Centralised web platform for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website network

We created a multifunctional web platform that provides the common technology foundation for the websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and its diplomatic missions. Separately administered solutions were replaced with a centralised system for managing the entire website network efficiently. The platform allows a new diplomatic mission website to be configured using shared components while maintaining a consistent visual identity and feature set. At the same time, each organisation can independently manage its content and publish news, documents, events and other relevant information. Integrations with the ministry’s internal systems, advanced search, multilingual support and a high-security infrastructure ensure reliable operation and provide a foundation for continued development as organisational needs evolve.

Project results

We delivered a unified web platform for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions, covering the complete solution lifecycle—from assessment of the existing MFA website, requirements analysis, concept and design development to programming, integrations, data migration, testing, deployment, documentation and administrator training. A single CMS now hosts the MFA website and a flexible template for creating an unlimited number of diplomatic mission, consular office and special mission websites, with their structure, modules, languages and content managed individually. Long-term warranty support, maintenance and continued platform development were also planned after launch.
